How many people can sleep on board?

12 berths in 6 cabins, with 4 heads

Solanna sleeps up to 12 guests in 6 cabins: 4 double cabins in the hulls and 2 single cabins in the bows, with 12 berths in total when the saloon converts into a double. There are 4 bathrooms, each with a WC and a shower, so no more than three guests share one. Groups of 8 to 10 have the most space, while 12 guests suit families and friends who are happy to share. If you add a skipper or a hostess, they also need a berth on board, which reduces the places left for guests, so tell us your group size when you ask for a quote.

What equipment is on board?

2 × 30 HP engines, 800 L of fuel and 860 L of water

Solanna is equipped for comfortable, independent cruising. For comfort she has air conditioning, a generator, an inverter, a watermaker, solar panels, a refrigerator, a bimini for shade and cockpit cushions. For navigation there is an autopilot and a chart plotter, and the full-batten mainsail with lazy jacks makes reefing and stowing the main easier for a small crew. Two 30 HP engines, a 800-litre fuel tank and a 860-litre water tank give plenty of range between marinas, and the watermaker tops up fresh water at anchor. A dinghy with an outboard engine and snorkelling equipment are on board for exploring beaches and coves.

Where can we sail from Lefkada?

3 to 40 nautical miles from Marina Perigiali

From Marina Perigiali on the east coast of Lefkada, three Ionian sailing areas are within reach. The sheltered Inland Sea around Meganisi, Kalamos and Kastos starts just outside the marina and is ideal for the first days. Kefalonia and Ithaca lie to the south, with harbours such as Fiskardo, Assos, Vathy and Kioni. Paxos and Antipaxos are about 35 to 40 nautical miles to the north, through the Lefkada canal, so they suit 10-day charters or weeks with settled weather. Winds are usually light in the morning, and the north-westerly maistro builds in the afternoon, typically to Force 3 to 5.

Can we charter Solanna with a skipper or a hostess?

Skipper €210 a night, hostess €190 a night

Yes. Solanna is chartered bareboat, and you can add a professional skipper for €210 per night and a hostess for €190 per night; with both on board, it becomes a crewed charter. For a bareboat charter, Greek rules require the skipper to hold a recognised sailing licence, such as an ICC, and a second crew member with sailing experience. A local skipper knows the anchorages, handles mooring in busy harbours and plans each day around the afternoon maistro, while a hostess takes care of meals and keeps the boat tidy. Our guide compares bareboat, skippered and crewed charters in detail.
